Indeed a person may be given a full and complete reward and even raised/resurrected as a haafidh (memorizer) of the noble qur'aan if he is sincere in his intention, truthful and insistent in his dua'a (request from Allah (سبحانه وتعالى)) even if he does not complete the memorization of the noble qur'aan (and this is only if he is truthful and sincere in his intention and desire to complete it) seeking thereby the face of Allah (سبحانه وتعالى).
The hadeeth of Sahl ibn Haneef (رضي الله عنه) that the prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلّم) said:
"Whoever asks Allah to die as a martyr with sincerity and truthfulness in his dua'a, Allah will give him the status of the martyrs even if he dies on his bed"
[Narrated by Muslim]
This hadeeth also makes clear to us that there will be some people on the day of judgement that will be resurrected as a martyr even though he/she never participated in any battles (jihad). And the reason for this is his/her truthfulness in intention, and his/her sincerity with Allah (سبحانه وتعالى). They will achieve as a result of these two important deeds of the heart, the highest ranks and levels in Jannah.
So if being truthful in dua'a and sincere in the worship of Allah will earn the martyrs the highest ranks and levels in jannah, wouldn't it be the same for the people (the memorizers) of the qur'aan. We ask Allah to make us from those who are sincere and truthful in the dua'a we make, ameen.
